Hello, hello! Wow. It’s been about half a year since my last life update, and A LOT has happened since then. The biggest change that has occurred in our family has been finding out we’re expecting a new member. A little boy is due this fall! 💙
Even though my daughter was hoping for a little sister, we are all getting excited to welcome a boy and experience the differences. Already, boy pregnancy versus girl pregnancy has been night and day. With my daughter I experienced a few weeks of morning sickness, and then I felt amazing for the next several months: full of energy, slept the best I ever have, and was able to work outside all summer in a physically-demanding job. Honestly, I felt stronger and more empowered than I did BEFORE I was pregnant. With a boy, the morning sickness has been absolutely brutal (and still hanging on at 26 weeks) and my energy levels, capacity for physical exertion, and ability to deal with the summer heat have been low. If you’ve seen the movie “What To Expect When You’re Expecting,” my first pregnancy was Skyler or Jules, and my second has been 100% Wendy. It has made me curious to know what everyone else has experienced being pregnant with a boy versus a girl. I was not expecting such a wild difference!
Pregnancy has been the biggest reason why I’ve been MIA for the last half of the year. I feel like I’ve been existing in survival mode, and I’m just starting to feel glimpses of myself again. I’ve been trying to soak in the summer season as much as I possibly can, especially since it is the last one with just the 3 of us. We’ve enjoyed the 4th of July festivities, bought a pop-up camper and taken it on its maiden voyage, and enjoyed a few lazy afternoons by the river. My husband fully-fenced our yard and I’m dreaming of turning our dry patch of weeds into a beautiful, thriving flower and vegetable garden…yet I lack the energy to actually do it 😅 But sometimes the dreaming is the best part!
Speaking of dreaming, my next “project” is to create a lovely, uplifting summer vision board for my bedroom. I’m hoping to share it in the blog when it’s done, and I hope you join me in creating one for yourself! Have a wonderful summer season, and we’ll catch up soon.
Until next time,
Kori
